Mechanical Properties: POM is a kind of polymer with highcrystallinity, high elastic modulus, high hardness and stiffness.It can be used in-40 ~ 100 °C. And resistant to repeated blows, theintensity of change is very little. Strength is little affected bytemperature and temperature variations. 2. Thermal properties: POMhas higher thermal deformation temperature, homopolymerization is136 °C, copolymerization is 110 °C. However, because of thedifference of molecular distribution, the COPOLYMER has a highercontinuous utilization temperature. In general, the temperature atwhich pom is used for a long time is about 100 °C. Theco-formaldehyde can be used for 2000h at 114 °C, or for 1000h at138 °C. The temperature available for a short time can reach 160°C. According to the American UL example, the temperature ofpermanent heat resistance of POM is 85 ~ 105 °C. 3. ChemicalResistance: The basic layout of POM is that it has no roomtemperature solvent. In the resin melting point below or close, butalso almost no solvent, only individual substances such asperfluoroacetone, can probably form a very dilute solution. Electrical Properties: one of the goodelectrical properties of pom is that its dielectric constant isindependent of temperature and humidity. The difference in traceimpurity content due to differential manufacturing processes canhave an order of magnitude effect on the resistance. 5.SHORTCOMINGS OF POM Properties: Higher relative density, Opaque,not acid-resistant; higher molding shrinkage; lower melting point;relatively quick thermal degradation at higher temperature. In thepresence of oxygen, thermal oxygen degradation occurs. In additionto the above properties, homopolyformaldehyde has high density,crystallinity and mechanical strength. The short-term strength,modulus, elongation, thermal deformation temperature, creepresistance, heat aging resistance and hot water resistance of pomare better than those of pom.
